INCERT is proud to support the Kingdom of Tonga, OIM - ONU Migration, and the Government of Japan in this multi-year initiative to introduce a secure, internationally compliant ePassport system.
Following our technical assessment of Tonga’s passport issuance lifecycle, we had the honor of contributing to the 4th Steering Committee Meeting, chaired by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Tupouto’a ‘Ulukalala, alongside key government agencies.
The goal is clear ➝ deliver ePassports that are:
Fully aligned with relevant ICAO and ISO standards
Resilient against identity fraud and transnational crime
Accessible and sustainable for all Tongan citizens
Built to modernize and streamline public services
Funded by the Government of Japan, this project aims to strengthen identity systems, enhances border security, and supports safe, well-managed mobility across the Pacific, now and for years to come.
